PLANET VC-231GP-V2 je jednoportový gigabitový konvertor Ethernet přes VDSL2 s integrovaným PoE injektorem, určený pro vysokorychlostní přenos dat po stávajícím telefonním vedení bez nutnosti pokládky nové kabeláže.
Konvertor pracuje s technologií VDSL2 profil 35b a podporuje standard ITU-T G.993.5 G.vectoring, který eliminuje přeslechy na měděném vedení a maximalizuje přenosovou kapacitu. Symetrická rychlost dosahuje až 200/200 Mbps (G.INP, Sym, 8 dB) na vzdálenost do 200 m, asymetricky pak až 281/59 Mbps. Na vzdálenost 1,4 km je k dispozici rychlost 11/9 Mbps. Díky podpoře standardu ADSL2+ (až 24 Mbps downstream) lze zařízení využít i v sítích s ADSL přípojkami a po upgradu poskytovatele přejít na VDSL2.
Integrovaný PoE+ injektor dle IEEE 802.3at umožňuje napájet vzdálené PoE zařízení výkonem až 30,8 W přes kabel Cat.5E/6 na vzdálenost do 100 m. Konvertor je vhodný pro napájení PoE IP kamer, bezdrátových přístupových bodů nebo VoIP telefonů. Přepínač CO/CPE na DIP přepínači umožňuje nasazení na straně ústředny i na straně zákazníka; pro propojení point-to-point je nutné použít vždy jeden konvertor v režimu CO a jeden v režimu CPE.
Nasazení v MTU/MDU a FTTx sítích
Konvertor je vhodný pro rychlé zavedení vysokorychlostního připojení v bytových domech, hotelích, nemocnicích a kancelářských budovách s využitím stávající telefonní infrastruktury. V roli posledního úseku FTTx sítě (Fiber to the Building, Fiber to the Campus nebo Fiber to the Node) propojuje optický uzel poskytovatele s jednotlivými byty nebo místnostmi bez nutnosti nového kabelování.
Vrstva 2 a správa sítě
Zařízení pracuje v architektuře Store-and-Forward, podporuje tabulku MAC adres s kapacitou 1 000 záznamů, maximální velikost rámce 1 522 bajtů, automatické učení a stárnutí adres, transparentnost IEEE 802.1Q VLAN a filtrování chybných paketů (broadcast storm control, runt/CRC filtering). Stav portů a systému je sledovatelný prostřednictvím LED indikátorů na předním panelu.
